Acupuncture can be used to promote healing by normalizing the flow of energy in the body and tissues. It does this by providing energy, as the needles have an electromagnetic field around them, which causes charge movement and therefore energy flow. In addition, the needles cause "bleeding" and therefore increased blood flow into the tissues, and cause the release of custom made anti-inflamatories (released by the brain) to flow into the damaged tissues. It is a remarkably effective mode of treatment. Our physios are trained in acupuncture and dry needling, which adds another dimension to the holistic treatment our patients obtain in the practice.
